Parking and pricing information for visitors to Melbourne Airport
Commonwealth and Consulate cars, and limousines
Commonwealth Cars and limousines will use the new VHA parking area, outside Qantas Terminal (T1). The rates for this area as follows:
$3 - up to 30 minutes
$6 - up to 59 minutes
The following short term car parking prices apply from 60 minutes
$20 - 1 to 2 hours
$28 - 2 to 3 hours
$26 - 3 to 4 hours
VIP pick ups by in the Inner Lane are available for a fee of $275. Seven days notice, in writing to the Ground Transport Manager, is required.
Couriers
Large courier and delivery vehicles, over 3.5 meters in height, are required to park in the Ballroom Loading Dock. This area is located, and signed, off Arrivals Drive (after the second entry into the short term car park).
For courier vehicles less than 3.5 meters in height, that will safely park within the lines of a standard car park, two new loading zones have been allocated under the Forecourt Redevelopment project.
Airline couriers - including Australia Post, internal post and baggage handlers - have been allocated three spaces on the ground level of the short term car park. Entry is after the general public boom gates into the short term car park and is signed - Car Rental Parking, Couriers and Parkroyal.
Retail couriers have been allocated three spaces near Tiger Airways (T4). These vehicles must also be less than 3.5 meters in height and fit inside a standard car park.
Once these two loading zones are fully utilised, couriers will be required to park in the short-term car park and normal rates apply.
Small couriers, in vehicles less than 3.5 meters in height, are not permitted in the Ballroom Loading Dock at any time. This area will be enforced.
Disabled parking
Three bays for picking up passengers with a disability still remain in the Middle Lane, outside Qantas Terminal (T1). Once stage 1 of the Forecourt Redevelopment is completed, at the end of 2011, these three bays will move to the new Outer Lane.. Disabled parking bays are also available on all levels of the short term car park. Wheelchair Accessible Transport vehicles that are higher than 2.7 meters will need to enter the short term carpark through gate 8.
General public
General public are required to park in the short term car park or long term car park. One-minute pick-up bays will be located in the new Outer Lane parking area when it re-opens at the end of 2011. Drivers will not be permitted to leave their cars while parking in this area. Private vehicles are not permitted to stop in the bus lanes outside the terminal building.
VHA
VHA drivers have the choice of two areas in the arrivals area at Melbourne Airport. Outside Qantas Terminal (T1), 75 bays have been allocated and marked for VHA vehicles. A second area, consisting of 14 bays, has been allocated in the Express Business Parking area located between Virgin Australia (T3) and Tiger Airways (T4) terminals.

Taxis
Booked taxis are now required to park in the short term car park, while awaiting their passenger's arrival. Melbourne Airport has implemented a special rate for VTD license holders. This is $3 for the first 30 minutes and $6 for 59 minutes. Once 60 minutes is reached, short term car parking prices apply. Taxis can leave and return if their passenger is late.
To access this rate, a driver with a pre-booked fare must show their VTD license at the Customer Service desk located on the ground floor of the carpark. This includes country taxis.
Note: Booked taxis can wait at the taxi holding area located at Melrose Drive in the event of flight delays.
