Melbourne Airport celebrates Chinese New Year!

Feb 15, 2010

Melbourne Airport this week celebrated Chinese New Year for the second year running with lion dancers, banners, lanterns, special retail promotions, public address announcements and flight information messages. Lion dancers entertained passengers and staff in Terminal 2 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings this week which was enjoyed by all at the airport.  The Chinese market is a growing one for Melbourne Airport with 287,000 passengers over the last 12 months and forecast growth of 8.4% over the next nine years.  The Chinese New Year celebrations are part of an ongoing strategy to deliver a great experience for Chinese travellers and this will be supported by the introduction of specific Chinese signage throughout Terminal 2 over the next three months.

Xin nian hao!  Goong hey fat choy!  Happy New Year of the Tiger!
