Tiger recommences Darwin services from Melbourne

Jun 18, 2010

Melbourne Airport welcomes Tiger Airway's reintroduction of services on the Melbourne - Darwin route today. The services will run six times a week between the two cities.

Melbourne Airport CEO Chris Woodruff said "it is brilliant to see Tiger services back on the popular Darwin route, with the extra flights coming at a perfect time for those choosing to travel in the peak season".

Earlier this year Tiger also commenced services to Brisbane from their home base at Melbourne and announced that they will be launching daily flights to both Cairns and Rockhampton this September.

"These additional services to Darwin bring the total number of destinations out of Melbourne on the Tiger network to 12, proof of the strength the diverse experiences Melbourne and greater Victoria have to offer as a key Australian destination" Mr Woodruff said.

This announcement follows Tiger commencing services on the Melbourne - Sydney route, introducing additional aircraft to their fleet and increasing services to other destinations throughout Australia such as the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Hobart and Adelaide from Melbourne.
