Terms and Conditions
On entering this competition you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions:
1. Standard Terms
1.1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
1.2 This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in the outcome.
1.3 The winner will be chosen on the creativity, relevance and interest in their answer to the required task.
1.4 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
2. Who can enter?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia only over 18 years of age who complete the task requirement set down in these rules.
2.2 Employees and families of the Promoter or the prize suppliers or any of their agencies associated with the Competition or Program are not eligible to enter. This includes a spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, child or sibling (whether full, half, step or by adoption).
3. How to enter
3.1 Entrants can enter by completing an entry form at the specified areas below or go online towww.melbourneairport.com.au/wild and scan the QR code and fill in all the required fields.
3.2 The requirement for entry is to compose an acrostic poem where the first, last or other letters contained within the structure spell out the word “WILD”.
3.3 The competition commences on Thursday March 24 2016 (AEDST) and entries must be received by 11.59pm on Monday May 9 2016 (AEST).
3.4 Incomplete or incoherent entry forms may be deemed invalid at the discretion of the Promoter.
3.5 The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.6 Entry box locations:
After security, Virgin concourse E (gates area) on Mezzanine Level in T3 on walkway opposite Hudsons Coffee.
After security, outside retailer Icons before Gates for Virgin/Rex/Jetstar
3.7 Failure to comply with the above conditions or complete all fields required will deem the entry invalid and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. Critical Dates
4.1 The Promotional Period for prizes commences at 12 midnight Thursday March 24 (AEDST) 2016 and closes at 11.59pm on Sunday May 8 2016 (AEST).
4.2 The Grand Prize winner will be the entrant whose answer is chosen to be one with the most creative, relevant and interesting in response to the question. The judging will take place on Monday May 16 at 3pm at the office of the Promoter, Australia Pacific Airport Management Office at Level 2, Terminal 2, Melbourne Airport, Tullamarine, Victoria 3043 (Promoter's Office).
4.3 The prize winner will be contacted by phone and/or email and their name announced on the Melbourne Airport Facebook page and the website www.melbourneairport.com.au
4.4 If the grand prize is unclaimed a second judging will take place at the Promoter's Office on Monday August 8 2016 at 10am (AEST).
4.5 In such an event, the winners will be notified in writing and by phone and published on the websitewww.melbourneairport.com.au
5. Major Prize
5.1 There is one (1) major prize to the total value of $8400.
5.2 The prize consists of a four (4) night holiday package for two (2) people. The prize includes a four (4) night stay at the El Questro Wilderness park in Western Australia and two (2) Flight Centre Vouchers valued at $1000 each. (Total $2000). The El Questro package consists of a three (3) night stay at The Station Riverview Room and a one (1) night stay at the Homestead Chamberlain Gorge Room. The prize includes an Emma Gorge guided walk tour and a Miri Miri helicopter tour.
This is a single event holiday and cannot be separated into different holiday vacations or redeemed for cash. The winner may be required to present their credit card upon checking in at the accommodation.
5.4 Travel Insurance is not included in the prize and we strongly recommend it is taken by the winner before travel.
5.5 Availability of the flight and land component of this prize cannot be guaranteed during peak periods such as Christmas, School Holiday or special event periods and is subject to availability.
5.6 Subject to the Terms and Conditions of the participating prize providers, if for any reason the winner does not, once the prize has been booked, take the prize (or an element of the prize) at the time stipulated, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited and will not be redeemable for cash.
5.7 All travel must be completed by the 2017 Season closure. All passengers must travel together on the same flights and stay in their allotted accommodation for each destination. The prize winner will be required to sign a liability waiver form to accept the prize. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist in transit or at any destination.
5.8 The prize listed above is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers and the winner(s) agree that The Promoter cannot be held liable for any breaches of these Terms and Conditions.
Winners of the prize should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings.
5.10 The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries
and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights.
5.11 In participating in the competition, the winners agree to participate and co- operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed, filmed for broadcast and photographed. The winners agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual and non- exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner (and his/her companion) will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
5.12 The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages to the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
5.13 If a prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority. As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner must sign legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity.
5.14 The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. No Liability
6.1 CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COMPETITION OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW IN THE EVENT THAT ANY SUCH ATTEMPT IS MADE, WHETHER OR NOT THAT ATTEMPT RESULTS IN ANY SUCH DAMAGE, INTERFERENCE OR UNDERMINING.
6.2 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Eligible persons understand that they are providing their information to the Promoter and not to Facebook. The information an Eligible Person provides will only be used for the purposes outlined in these Conditions. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Competition must be directed to the Promoter and not to Facebook
6.3 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to government legislation.
6.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not responsible for lost, interrupted communications or unavailable server or other connections, failed telephone, mid-delivery or computer transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic.
6.5 If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
6.6 The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry of any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
6.7 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports limit, exclude or modify the Promoter's liability in relation to the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Non-Excludable Guarantees Liability).
6.8 Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees Liability, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Promotion including (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
