Melbourne Airport has supported Banksia Gardens Community Services since 2015. We help fund Banksia’s ‘Aiming High VCE Support Program’, its ‘After-School Program’ and Melbourne Airport scholarships for grade six students.

Banksia Gardens Community Services is a community service organisation located in Broadmeadows. Its programs focus on early childhood, education and training, gender equity, young people, environmental sustainability and community participation and advocacy for the wider Hume area. More than 30 groups and associations are based at the neighbourhood house, which was used by more than 80,000 people in 2019.

We are proud to continue our partnership with Banksia Gardens, and our role in providing opportunities to support children and young people in reaching their potential.

Aiming High VCE Support Program

The ‘Aiming High VCE Support Program’ targets young people completing their VCE and years 11 and 12, offering students in-depth support with tutors and time to collaborate with like-minded students. The free and award-winning program offers mentoring, personal development and career excursions to help Hume’s young people to fulfil their academic potential.

After-School Program

The ‘After-School Program’ supports children and young people aged 5-18 years with a suite of activities to support the academic, social, physical and creative development of primary and secondary school students outside of school hours.

Transition to Year 7 Scholarship Program

Each year, Melbourne Airport awards scholarships for excellence to four grade 6 students from four local Broadmeadows primary schools.
