Road delays and disruptions

We’re continuing major works as part of Naarm Way Stage 2, a new road network designed to make access to Melbourne Airport easier in the future. While construction continues, there will be some changes to access and traffic conditions around the airport this week.

Please allow extra time for your journey and follow detour signs and staff directions on site.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

Nighttime Works

1. Taxi, Uber & Skybus, Value Car Park Bus and Qantas Staff Bus at Terminals 1,2 and 3: Overnight closure of Carriageway 1 from 1am – 6am on the following dates:

• Tuesday 10/02 – Thursday 12/02.
• Monday 16/02 – Tuesday 17/02

Please be advised of the following disruption during this period:

• Diversions in place for taxi users at Terminal 1,2 and 3, travelers are advised to use Taxi and Uber ranks located at T4 to avoid disruptions during this period.
• Value Car Park Bus pick up will be from Carriageway 2 at Terminal 1 between these times. No changes to Value Carpark bus at Terminal 4.
• Qantas Staff Bus pick up will be from Carriageway 2 at Terminal 1 between these times.

2. Lift Upgrades:- continue until March 2026. Two lifts remain open in each lobby.

3. Access to Levels 3–6: Take front lifts to Level 2, then follow signs to the rear lift lobby.

4. PARKROYAL: Level 2 Access and access from the terminal side of the building closed. Follow detour signage for access through the T123 carpark ground floor via the dedicated central Park Royal lifts.

5. Bay Closures: 2,400 bays closed.

6. Car Rental Returns Entry/ Exit:

• Enter via Centre Road, until mid 2026.
• Centre Road exit closed until August 2026

7. Arrival Drive: Reduced to three lanes until the end of February 2026.

8. Pedestrian Access from Value Carpark: Temporary detour in place until March 2026.

9. Departure Drive (T1 Qantas end): Single Lane closure until end of February 2026.

10. Centre Road: Daily turning lane closures on the corner of Centre Rd and Airport Dr, from 7am to 5pm

11. Centre Road: Lane closures on both sides of the median between Terminal Dr and Airport Dr from Monday 16 to Wednesday 18 February, 10pm to 2am

12. Access closed: Access remains closed.

Overnight closures on Tullamarine Freeway

14A. Tullamarine Freeway Citybound fast lane closure between APAC Drive and Mickleham Road until March 2026.

14B. Tullamarine Freeway Airport bound lane closure between Mickleham Road and Mercer Drive until March 2026.

14C. Double Lane closures on the outbound Carriageway (heading to the airport) on Monday 16 February and Wednesday 18 February 2026 between 9pm and 5am.

14D. Full Tullamarine Freeway closure on Wednesday, 18th February 2026 between 10pm and 5am

14E. Tullamarine Freeway Airport bound carriageway closure between Mickleham Rd off ramp and Mickleham Rd on ramp on Thursday 19 February between 9pm and 5am.

• Staff are available to assist in the forecourt area.
• Please allow up to 60 minutes of additional travel time due to detours, delays, and extended walking routes.
• For quicker pick-ups, use Terminal 4 Pick-Up Area to avoid congestion at T123.
