There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

1. Lift Upgrades
   • Ongoing in front lobbies (T1 and T3 ends) from 30 June to 8 August.
   • Two of the three lifts remain operational in each lobby.
2. Access to Levels 3–6
   • Use rear lifts if entering from the back of the car park.
   • Or take the front lifts to Level 2 and follow signage to the rear lift lobby.
   • Note: Front lifts only operate between Ground and Level 2. Access to Level 3+ via front lifts is permanently closed due to drop-off zone works.
3. PARKROYAL Access
   • Level 2 access closed.
   • Use the central ground floor lobby of the T123 Car Park.
4. Bay Closures
   • Levels 1–6: 20 bays permanently closed on each level for lift installation.
   • Level 2: 580 bays temporarily closed (former Premium Valet area).
   • Level 3: 560 bays permanently closed for drop-off zone construction.
5. Car Park Exit
   • Four boom gates operational.
   • Daytime lane closures in place from 8:00am–3:00pm.
   • Exit helix ramp (L3 to L2) closed until late September 2025 — follow detour signs via internal Level 3 ramp.
6. Car Park Entry
   • Single-lane entry reduction in place for scaffolding installation.
   • Works ongoing until October 2025.
7. Car Rental Returns
   • Access remains via Centre Road.
   • A new secondary exit lane is now operational.

8. Arrivals Drive

• Reduced to three lanes.
• Lanes 2, 3, and 4 exit via Melbourne Drive.

9. Pedestrian Access

• Detour remains in place between Value Car Park and the terminals.

9A. Bonney Court

• Lane closed and pedestrian access shifted on Tuesday 22 July from 7:00am–4:00pm.

10. Departures Drive (T1 End)

• Reduced to one lane.
• Works continuing through December 2025.

11A. Naarm Way Ramp

• One lane remains closed on the ramp from Tullamarine Freeway to T4 Car Park.

11B. Full Ramp Closure (Tullamarine Fwy to T4)

• Scheduled overnight closure: Tuesday 22 July, 11:00pm–4:00am.
• Detours in place. Pick-up and drop-off via the Terminal 1–3 Forecourt.

11C. Naarm Way Off-Ramp – Night Works

Nightly lane closures continue through Thursday 24 July, from 8:00pm–6:00am

12. Access Closed

• No access available during this period.

13A. Northbound Fast Lane Closure

• Closed Monday 21 & 22 July, 10:00pm–11:59pm.
• Detour via Tullamarine Freeway.

13B. Northbound Slow Lane Closure

• Closed Monday 21 & 22 July, 11:00pm–4:00am.
• Detour via Tullamarine Freeway.

14. Double Fast Lane Closures (Holiday Inn)

• Northbound and Southbound closures on 22 July from 10:00pm–4:00am.

• Staff will be available in the forecourt area to assist.
• Please allow up to 30 minutes of additional travel time due to delays, detours, and extended walking routes.
• For quicker pick-up, consider using the Terminal 4 Pick-Up Area to avoid congestion at T123.

To support the next stage of Naarm Way Stage 2 construction, there will be significant overnight road works impacting Departures Drive and the Naarm Way Ramp. Please allow extra travel time and follow all signage and detours.

Departures Drive – Night Works

Road works will occur overnight between 11:00pm and 5:00am on the following dates:

• 28 – 31 July: Full closure of Arrival Drive
• 4 – 8 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive
• 11 – 15 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive

Naarm Way Ramp – Full Closure

Please be advised that from 10:00pm Wednesday 23 July to 5:00am Thursday 24 July, the Naarm Way ramp will be fully closed to allow for the removal of an overhead gantry sign.

A contingency closure is scheduled from 10:00pm Thursday 24 July to 5:00am Friday 25 July, in case the works are delayed by weather.

During this period:

• Access to Terminal Parking will be via the Ground Floor of the Terminal 4 Car Park
• Terminal 4 Pick-Up & Drop-Off will be redirected to the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 Forecourt
• Premium Self Park Terminal 4 will be redirected to the Premium Self Park Terminal 1, 2, 3
