There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

Terminal 1, 2, 3 Car Park

1. Lift Upgrades: Lift upgrades continue at the front lobbies (T1 and T3 ends) from 30 June to 8 August. Two of the three lifts remain operational at each end.

2. Access to Levels 3–6:

• Use rear lifts (if entering from the rear of the car park), or
• Take front lifts to Level 2, then follow signage through the car park to the rear lift lobby to access higher levels.

Note: Front lifts only operate from Ground to Level 2. Access to Levels 3 and above via front lifts is permanently closed due to ongoing drop-off zone works.

3. PARKROYAL Access
Access via Level 2 is closed. Please use the central ground floor lobby of the T123 car park.

4. Bay Closures

• Levels 1–6: 20 bays permanently closed per level for lift installation
• Level 2: 580 bays temporarily closed (former Premium Valet area)
• Level 3: 560 bays permanently closed for drop-off zone works

5. Car Park Exit
Four boom gates operational. Daytime lane closures from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
The helix ramp exit from Level 3 to Level 2 is closed until late September.
→ Detour via internal ramp on Level 3 – follow signage.

6. Car Park Entrance
Single lane reduced on the entry ramp for scaffolding installation – in place until October 2025.

7. Car Rental Returns
Access remains via Centre Road. A new secondary exit lane is now operational.

8. Arrivals Drive: Reduced to three lanes. Forecourt lanes 2, 3, and 4 exit via Melbourne Drive.

9. Arrival Drive & Centre Road 

• Fast lane closed on Arrival Drive
• Slow lane closed on northbound Centre Road
  Both closures in place from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 July

10. Pedestrian Access: Detour remains in place between Value Car Park and the terminals.

10A. Bonney Court
Lane closure with pedestrians redirected into the dead lane on Wednesday 16 July, 7:00am–4:00pm.

11. Departures Drive (T1 End)
Reduced to one lane. Works continue through to December 2025.

12. Bus Detour
Temporary pavement detour in place Monday 14 July, 11:00pm–4:00am.

13. Naarm Way Ramp
One lane remains closed on the ramp from Tullamarine Freeway to T4 Car Park.

14. Naarm Way Off-Ramp Closures
Nightly closures from 15 July, 8:00pm–6:00am.

15A. Lane Closure (Night)
City-bound single lane closed from 13–14 July, 10:00pm–5:00am.

15B. Lane Closure (Day)
City-bound single lane closed from 14–15 July, 1:00pm–3:00pm.

16. Access Closed
No access during this period.

17A. Southbound Closure at Holiday Inn
Closed on 14–15 July, 10:00am–3:00pm.

17B. Northbound Full Closure
Closed Monday 14 July, 10:00pm–11:59pm. Detour and early signage in place.

17C. Southbound Full Closure
Closed Tuesday 15 July, 4:00am–5:00am. Follow detour signage.

17D. Dual Fast Lane Closures
Northbound and southbound fast lanes closed at Holiday Inn from 15 July, 10:00pm–4:00am.

• Assistance is available for passengers in the forecourt area.
• Plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time to account for potential delays.
• For smoother pick-ups, use the T4 pick-up area to avoid congestion in the T123 forecourt.

To support the next stage of Naarm Way Stage 2 construction, there will be significant overnight road works impacting Departures Drive and the Naarm Way Ramp. Please allow extra travel time and follow all signage and detours.

Departures Drive – Night Works

Road works will occur overnight between 11:00pm and 5:00am on the following dates:

• 28 – 31 July: Full closure of Arrival Drive
• 4 – 8 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive
• 11 – 15 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive

Naarm Way Ramp – Full Closure

Please be advised that from 10:00pm on Monday, 8 July to 5:00am on Tuesday, 9 July, the Naarm Way Ramp will be fully closed for the removal of an overhead gantry sign.

During this period:

• Access to Terminal Parking will be via the Ground Floor of the Terminal 4 Car Park
• Terminal 4 Pick-Up & Drop-Off will be redirected to the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 Forecourt
• Premium Self Park Terminal 4 will be redirected to the Premium Self Park Terminal 1, 2, 3
