There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

1. Lane 4 Public Pick-Up - 2 to 6 June, 11:00am–3:00pm: Lane 4 closed. Public pick-up temporarily moved to Lane 3.

2A. Levels 1–6: 20 bays permanently closed on each level for lift construction.

2B. Level 1: 20 bays temporarily closed for VHA boom gate works.

2C. Level 1 VHA Parking Area - 27 May to 6 June: Half of the parking bays will be closed for works at any given time. Entry and exit into VHA parking area will be maintained throughout the duration of the works.

2D. Levels 2–6 Access: Enter via ramp from Level 1 (main entrance ramp remains closed).

2E. Level 2: 580 bays temporarily closed (former Premium Valet/Premium Self-Park area).

2F. Level 3: 260 bays permanently closed for new drop-off zone works.

3. Car Park Exit: Three boom gates operational. Overnight lane closures between 11:00pm–4:00am.

4. Car Park Entrance: New entrance ramp in operation.

5. Car Rental Returns: Access via Centre Road.

6. Arrivals Drive: Reduced to three lanes. Forecourt Lanes 2, 3, and 4 exit via Melbourne Drive.

7. Pedestrian Access: Detour in place between Value Car Park and terminals.

8. Departures Drive (Terminal 1/Qantas Domestic end): Reduced to one lane. Works continue through to December 2025.

9. Double Lane Closure: Arrival Drive and Bonney Court closed Sunday 1 June to Thursday 5 June, 10:00pm–5:00am.

9. Naarm Way Ramp: One lane remains closed on the ramp from Tullamarine Freeway to T4 Terminal Car Park.

11. Southbound - Centre Road to Airport Drive: Single lane closure Thursday 5 June, 7:00am–5:00pm.

12. Terminal Drive, Arrival Drive, Centre Road lane closures: Monday 2 June & Tuesday 3 June, 11:59pm–4:00am. Detour via Tullamarine Freeway in place. Early pre-warning signage in place. Follow detour.

 11. Access: No access during this period.

14. Shoulder Lane Closure: 4 and 5 June, 7:00am–5:00pm. 

• Sunbury Slip Lane closed 10:00am–3:00pm.

15. Grants Road: 28 May to 28 June. Lane closures and detours in place along Grants Road, Centre Road, and Customs Road.

• Day works: 7:00am–7:00pm (Mon–Fri) and 8:00am–3:00pm (Sat).
• Night works: 10:30pm–6:00am (Mon–Sun).

• Assistance is available for passengers in the forecourt area.
• Plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time to account for potential delays.
• For smoother pick-ups, use the T4 pick-up area to avoid congestion in the T123 forecourt.

To support the next stage of Naarm Way Stage 2 construction, there will be significant overnight road works impacting Departures Drive and the Naarm Way Ramp. Please allow extra travel time and follow all signage and detours.

Departures Drive – Night Works

Road works will occur overnight between 22:00pm and 5:00am on the following dates:

• 1 – 5 June: Lane closures on Centre Road, Departure Drive, and Bonney Court
• 15 – 18 July: Full closure of Departure Drive
• 22 – 23 July: Full closure of Departure Drive
• 23 – 25 July: Two lanes closed on Departure Drive
• 28 July – 1 August: Two lanes closed on Departure Drive

Naarm Way Ramp – Full Closure

From 11:00pm on 8 July to 5:00am on 9 July, the Naarm Way Ramp will be fully closed for the removal of an overhead gantry sign.

During this time:

• Access to Terminal Parking will be via the Ground Floor of the T4 Car Park
• T4 Pick-Up & Drop-Off will be redirected to the T1 T2 T3 Forecourt
• Premium Self Park will be redirected to the T1 T2 T3 Terminal Car Park
