We’re continuing major works as part of Naarm Way Stage 2, a new road network designed to make access to Melbourne Airport easier in the future. While construction continues, there will be some changes to access and traffic conditions around the airport this week.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

1A. Taxi, Uber & Skybus (Carriageway 1): Partial footpath closure from 9am–5pm, Monday to Saturday.

1B. Off-airport bus, groups and charters (Carriageway 2): 

• Footpath and No Parking zone partially closed until 2 December.
• Pedestrian detour in place.

1C. Public Pick up Lane 1 (Carriageway 3):

• Afternoon off-peak lane closures: 18–21 November, 24–28 November, 1–2 December.
• Two bays and No Parking zones closed until 28 November.
• Pedestrian detours in place.

1D. Public Pick up Lane 2 (Carriageway 4):

• Afternoon off-peak lane closures on the same dates as above.
• Ten bays closed until early 2026 for bridge construction.

2. Lift Upgrades continue until March 2026. Two lifts remain open in each lobby.

3. Access to Levels 3–6: Take front lifts to Level 2, then follow signs to the rear lift lobby.

4. PARKROYAL Hotel: Level 2 and front access closed. Use ground level for access via central PARKROYAL lifts.

5. Bay Closures: Around 2,200 bays closed during work.

6. Car Rental Returns Entry/ Exit - Enter via Centre Road, exit via the Terminal 1 (Qantas domestic) end till mid 2026 (Centre Road exit remains closed).

7. Arrival Drive: Reduced to three lanes until end of 2025.

8. Pedestrian Access from Value Carpark. Temporary detour until March 2026.

9. Departure Drive (T1 end): Single lane closure until December 2025.

10. Terminal Drive: Single-lane closure 18–20 November from 10am–3pm.

11. Access Closed: Access remains closed during work.

12. Single turning lane closure: Centre Rd / Airport Dr on 21 November, between 7am–5pm.

13. Lane closure: Melbourne Dr / Centre Rd on 17 November, between 10am–4:30pm.

14. We’re upgrading Sunbury Road to prepare for the future third runway. Expect intermittent lane closures and delays. Stay informed about changes and delays at this page.

15A. Daily westbound lane closures: Between APAC Dr and Centre Rd (10am–5pm).

15B. Daily slow-lane closures: Between Francis Briggs Rd and APAC Dr (10am–5pm).

15C. Daily slow-lane closure: From the bottom of the T4 Car Park ramp (10am–5pm).

Staff are available to assist in the forecourt area.

Please allow up to 60 minutes of additional travel time due to detours, delays, and extended walking routes.

For quicker pick-ups, use Terminal 4 Pick-Up Area to avoid congestion at T123.
