There are disruptions due to construction work around Melbourne Airport. Please check this list so you can plan ahead.

Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times.

To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups.

Please refer to the map below, where each impact is labelled with a corresponding number for easy reference.

1A. Levels 1–6: 20 bays permanently closed on each level for lift construction.

1B. Level 1: 20 bays temporarily closed for VHA boom gate works.

1C. Levels 2–6 Access: Enter via ramp from Level 1 (main entrance ramp remains closed). 

1D. Level 2: 580 bays temporarily closed (former Premium Valet/Premium Self-Park area). 

1E. Level 2: Access to the Park Royal hotel lobby from the carpark is closed. Pedestrian access from ground floor and level 1 is still available.  

1F. Level 3: 260 bays permanently closed for new drop-off zone works. 

2. Car Park Exit: Three boom gates operational. Overnight lane closures between 11:00pm – 4:00am. 

3. Car Park Entrance: New entrance ramp in operation. 

4. Car Rental Returns: Car Rental Returns access via Centre Road. New Car Rental secondary exit lane in operation via Centre Road. 

Terminal Drive / Arrivals Drive / Departures Drive: 

5. Arrivals Drive: Reduced to three lanes. Forecourt Lanes 2, 3, and 4 exit via Melbourne Drive. 

6. Arrival Drive: Lane closure between 24 June to 26 June, 10:00pm – 4:00am (between Arrival Drive and Departure Drive).

7. Pedestrian Access: Detour in place between Value Car Park and Terminals. 

8. Departures Drive (Terminal 1/Qantas Domestic end): Reduced to one lane. Works continue through to December 2025.  

9. Naarm Way Ramp: One lane remains closed on the ramp from Tullamarine Freeway to Terminal 4 (T4) Car Park.

 10. Access: No access during this period.

• Assistance is available for passengers in the forecourt area.
• Plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time to account for potential delays.
• For smoother pick-ups, use the T4 pick-up area to avoid congestion in the T123 forecourt.

To support the next stage of Naarm Way Stage 2 construction, there will be significant overnight road works impacting Departures Drive and the Naarm Way Ramp. Please allow extra travel time and follow all signage and detours.

Departures Drive – Night Works

Road works will occur overnight between 11:00pm and 5:00am on the following dates:

• 9 – 11 July: Full closure of Arrival Drive
• 28 – 31 July: Full closure of Arrival Drive
• 4 – 8 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive
• 11 – 15 August: Two lanes closed on Arrival Drive

Naarm Way Ramp – Full Closure

Please be advised that from 10:00pm on Monday, 8 July to 5:00am on Tuesday, 9 July, the Naarm Way Ramp will be fully closed for the removal of an overhead gantry sign.

During this period:

• Access to Terminal Parking will be via the Ground Floor of the Terminal 4 Car Park
• Terminal 4 Pick-Up & Drop-Off will be redirected to the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 Forecourt
• Premium Self Park Terminal 4 will be redirected to the Premium Self Park Terminal 1, 2, 3
