Plan ahead: Allow extra travel time to Melbourne Airport

PSA: If you’re heading to the airport over January to early March 2025, we encourage you to allow an extra 30 minutes for your journey due to potential delays caused by construction works in the Terminal 123 forecourt. If you're picking up or dropping off loved ones, consider using Exit 19A and the Terminal 4 Car Park to avoid congestion in the Terminal 123 forecourt. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Overview

We are excited to announce the construction of new amenities and the redevelopment of existing facilities across Terminal 4 Landside.

This project will be carried out in two phases, focusing on both the northern Arrivals and southern Check-in areas on the Ground Floor.

Phase 1

South Amenities (16 July 2024 – February 2025)

In the first phase, we’ll be building a new, spacious amenity area at the southern end of Terminal 4, between Jetstar and Rex check-in. This facility will include:

  • Female Restrooms: 9 pans, 7 basins
  • Male Restrooms: 7 pans, 7 basins, 3 urinals
  • Accessible Restroom

Additionally, a new wheelchair storage space will be provided at the southern end of the terminal.

Phase 2

In the second phase, a new, large amenity area will be constructed at the northern end of Terminal 4, between Jetstar and Rex check-in areas. This new facility will offer:

  • Female Restrooms: 12 pans, 6 basins
  • Male Restrooms: 7 pans, 6 basins, 7 urinals
  • Accessible Restroom
  • All-Gender Restroom
  • Adult Change Restroom
  • Parents’ Room
  • Cleaners’ Room

Impact on travellers in 2024

There will be no disruption to amenities as we work through this project. All existing traveller amenities will remain open on the Ground Floor of Terminal 4, until the end of this project.

The project is expected to be completed by August 2025.

This project will enhance the comfort and convenience of travellers by providing modern, accessible, and inclusive facilities across Terminal 4 Landside.
