Every night, countless women across Victoria face an impossible choice: stay in a dangerous situation or leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Many end up sleeping in cars, couch surfing, or in shelters, searching for safety and stability. Family violence is the single largest driver of homelessness for women in Victoria. In 2022-23, over 23,000 women and 13,000 children who had experienced family violence were assisted by homelessness services (AIHW, 2023).
Melbourne Airport is honoured to support Juno and McAuley and their invaluable work across the north and west of Melbourne to assist women, non-binary people and children experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness after fleeing their home due to family violence.
We provide vital donations to directly help people find new homes.

What is a Car Park Sleepout?
Imagine sleeping in your car, feeling cold, hungry, and isolated. Now imagine doing it by choice, to support people who have no choice.
In 2024, we hosted the inaugural Car Park Sleepout on the top level of our T4 car park to raise awareness and funds.
By spending one night in their cars, participants helped raise funds that were donated directly to Juno and McAuley.
Join us in 2025 to raise awareness and vital funds for women and non-binary people experiencing homelessness due to family violence by participating in the Car Park Sleepout.
By sleeping in your car for one night, you will help not-for-profit organisations Juno and McAuley provide invaluable support for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless after fleeing their home due to family violence.
What does a Car Park Sleepout involve?
You will soon be able to sign up to park and sleep in your car for one night on Level 7 of the Terminal 4 Car Park at Melbourne Airport. Experience a fraction of what many women, non-binary people and their children endure every day.
Save the date: Thursday 16 October 2025
A registration fee per person will apply. All funds raised will go directly to Juno and McAuley to support women, non-binary people and their children across the north and west of Melbourne experiencing homelessness.
One night of your life can change the trajectory of another.
Corporate and personal donations are most welcome if you’re unable to attend.
