Melbourne Airport is an important hub for Australia’s international and domestic networks and is currently seeking federal government approval to build a new north-south runway, which will result in changes to flight paths around the city. It is important that we keep you up to date with what is happening and that we continue to hear what is important to you.

Melbourne Airport is undertaking safety-critical maintenance works to replace approximately 2,500 metres of asphalt on the existing north-south runway (Runway 16/34). From November 2022, and for approximately 10 months, temporary closures of the existing north-south runway will take place five nights a week for between 6.5 and 8 hours.
