Road delays and disruptions

We’re continuing major work as part of Naarm Way Stage 2, a new road network designed to make access to Melbourne Airport easier in the future. While construction continues, there will be some changes to access and traffic conditions around the airport this week.

Please allow extra time for your journey and follow detour signs and staff directions on site.

Carriageways

1. Overnight closure of Carriageways on the following dates;  

• Sunday 14/06  Full Lane Closure on Carriageway 4 from 22:00 to 01:00 hrs
• Monday 15/06  Full Lane Closure on Carriageway 3 from 01:30 to 04:00 hrs
• Tuesday 16/06  Full Lane Closure on Carriageway 2 from 01:00 to 04:00 hrs
• Tuesday 16/06  Full Lane Closure on Carriageway 3 from 01:00 to 04:00 hrs 

2. Access to Levels 3–6 - Take front lifts to Level 2, then follow signs to the rear lift lobby.

3. PARKROYAL: Level 2 Access and access from the terminal side of the building closed. Follow detour signage for access through the T123 carpark ground floor via the dedicated central Park Royal lifts.

4. Car Rental Returns Entry/ Exit –

• Enter via Centre Road, until June 15^th, 2026
• Centre Road exit closed until August 2026

5. Departure Drive (T1 End): Single Lane closure until End of August 2026.

6. Access Closed: Access remains closed.

7. We’re upgrading Sunbury Road to prepare for the future third runway. Expect intermittent lane closures and delays. Stay updated via the link below. Stay informed about changes and delays at this page.

8.  Fast lane closure on Melbourne Dr 10am to 3pm on 15 June to 18 June

9. Nouth bound and South bound fast lane closures on Centre Rd 11 June from 10pm to 5am
North Bound impacts on Centre Rd 15 to 17 June, between 11pm to 4am

10. Double lane closure on MLS 10 to 11 June and 15 to 18 June, between 10pm to 5am

- Arrival Dr on ramp to T4 Transport Hub closed 10 to 11 June and 16 to 18 June, between 10pm to 5am. Detours will be in place.

11. Triple lane closure on Arrival Drive  (single slow and double fast lanes) 17 to 18 June, 10pm to 4am

12. T123 Car Park Entrance reopened from morning of 16 June 2026

• Staff are available to assist in the forecourt area.
• Please allow up to 60 minutes of additional travel time due to detours, delays, and extended walking routes.
• For quicker pick-ups, use Terminal 4 Pick-Up Area to avoid congestion at T123.
