The car parks at Melbourne Airport are busy

The car parks at Melbourne Airport are busy this week The Value Car Park is nearly sold out Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you do have a car park booking, please arrive 30 minutes earlier than usual and have your QR code ready for a smooth entry and exit. Due to ongoing construction in the Terminal T1 T2 T3 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times if you are being dropped off by a loved one, taxi or Uber. To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, which is a 10-minute walk to and from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups. Thank you for your patience while we are building your airport.

Melbourne Airport reveals plans to renovate duty-free stores

The Arrivals Duty Free experience will be enhanced first by a renovation of the existing space, inspired by Melbourne's laneways and architectural style.

The retail space in Departures will also expand in 2026, providing more room for increased products and in-store activations.

Melbourne Airport Chief of Retail Jai McDermott said international travellers can also expect new luxury brands and travel exclusives as they head overseas or return home.

“Melbourne is widely regarded as Australia’s fashion capital and the Lotte brand will enhance that reputation with luxury items and travel exclusives that can only be found in duty-free,” he said.

“Significant savings can be found across popular categories including alcohol, cosmetics, perfume and eyewear thanks to GST and tax savings, and Lotte’s loyalty program.

“Key in-store features include a mixologist providing holidaymakers with free cocktails, makeup artists offering complimentary tutorials, and skincare consultations, as well as pop-up activations.

“We look forward to partnering with Lotte to enhance the airport’s retail offering and while delivering an improved shopping experience for guests.”

CEO and Director of Lotte Duty Free Oceania Stephen Timms said Lotte Duty Free is thrilled to have started our partnership with Melbourne Airport.

“We are looking forward to the store expansions and bringing world first shopping experiences to Melbourne travellers. We look forward to welcoming travellers through Melbourne Airport with an engaging and new fresh approach to Duty Free, which is uniquely Melbourne,” he said.

Melbourne Airport has also relaunched its online duty-free store “Laneway”, giving travellers the opportunity to click and collect when flying overseas or re-entering Melbourne. International travellers can purchase products up to two months ahead of travel and redeem items inside Lotte’s Arrivals or Departures store on the day of travel.
