Car parks are busy

ALL car parks are very busy this week, with limited drive-up spots available. Please consider alternative transport options. Please have your QR code ready for a smooth entry and exit. Our roads and car parks may have changed since your last visit. Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times. Learn about the Naarm Way Stage 2 project to plan ahead: https://www.melbourneairport.com.au/plan-ahead. To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups. Thank you for your patience.

Travellers flying though Melbourne Airport during December will have the chance to share in more than $100,000 worth of gifts through the airport’s Light Up Christmas campaign.

Gifts up for grabs include: one million Velocity Frequent Flyer Points, two Singapore Airlines’ Premium Economy flights to Europe, two Jetstar flights to Bali or Phuket plus lounge passes, valet parking and retail offers.

To kick-off the airport’s Christmas festivities a brass quintet from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performed traditional carols for international travellers in the airport’s T2 Luxury Precinct on Thursday 13 December.

Musicians from The Salvation Army will also perform in Terminals 2 to 4 every day throughout December.

Melbourne Airport CEO Lyell Strambi said it is important to celebrate Christmas especially for travellers who may be away from their family and friends.

“Christmas is such a special time and we really want Victorian travellers and visitors alike to experience the magic of the holidays while they travel, particularly those flying on Christmas Day,” said Mr Strambi.

“Our forecasts predict that more than 6.5 million people overall will fly through Melbourne in December and January combined, another driving force behind our largest Christmas promotion in history.

“Santa will be making an appearance and this year, for the first time, we will invite buskers from Bourke Street to entertain passengers.

“We will also encourage travellers to donate to The Salvation Army’s chaplaincy service which supports thousands of people at the airport each year.

“On behalf of Melbourne Airport I wish our travellers, staff and contractors a safe and happy Christmas.”

To enter the Melbourne Airport Light Up Christmas competition travellers must redeem a gift card from one of the airport’s hipster elves and follow the prompts.
