The car parks at Melbourne Airport are busy

The car parks at Melbourne Airport are busy this week The Value Car Park is nearly sold out Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If you do have a car park booking, please arrive 30 minutes earlier than usual and have your QR code ready for a smooth entry and exit. Due to ongoing construction in the Terminal T1 T2 T3 car park pick-up and drop-off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times if you are being dropped off by a loved one, taxi or Uber. To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, which is a 10-minute walk to and from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for drop-offs or Level 1 for pick-ups. Thank you for your patience while we are building your airport.

Staying healthy

We know some people may feel a little uncertain about air travel, which is why we have taken extra steps to make you feel safe on your journey through the airport.

There are hand sanitiser units located in check-in, along each concourse (walk-to-gate), in all of our bathroom facilities and food courts. We have also installed disinfectant wipes in domestic and international departures.

To minimise crowding we have placed visual aids on the ground in busy areas such as security screening and check-in, plus we have carefully spaced out seating to support physical distancing.

We’re also working closely with our retailers and contractors to ensure hygiene measures are consistent with government advice.

Our airline customers also have methods to keep travellers safe and to find out more we encourage you to contact the airline you’re flying with.

What you can do to stay healthy

The most important thing to avoid catching any virus, be it coronavirus, the flu or the common cold, is to wash your hands and avoid touching your face.

Here's how you can stay safe when travelling:

  • Regularly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds
  • Hand sanitiser is located in all terminals
  • Cover your sneeze or cough with your arm, not your hands
  • Maintaining distance of 1.5m between other travellers
