What Parking Options Are Available at Melbourne Airport?
Whether you're planning a same-day trip or heading away for a longer holiday, Melbourne Airport offers several parking options suited to both short-term and long-term stays. Here’s a quick look at each one:
- Value Car Park: If you’re heading away for a few days and looking for a budget-friendly option, this open-air car park is the most practical choice. It has entrances on Mercer Drive and Airport Drive and includes a free bus service running every 15 minutes, day and night. The bus stops are near Terminal 1 and Terminal 4. Travellers flying Qantas domestically from Terminal 1 or departing internationally from the international terminal in Terminal 2 will find the Terminal 1 stop most convenient. If you’re flying domestically from Terminals 3 or 4 with Jetstar, Rex, Link Airways or Virgin Australia, the Terminal 4 stop is the best option.
- Value Express: During peak times such as school holidays, you can also book Value Express, a seasonal valet-style service within the Value Car Park. Simply drop off your car near Bus Stop B and hop on the next bus while a member of our team parks it for you. When you return, one of our friendly staff will have your car ready so you can continue your journey home. Depending on availability, you can also choose to upgrade your booking to Value Express upon arrival.
- Terminal Car Parks: If you prefer parking within walking distance of the terminals, these multi-level car parks are a great option. There are two locations, both right across from the terminals and offering open-air and undercover parking. The T123 Terminal Car Park connects to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via a covered bridge, ideal for Qantas, Virgin Australia and international passengers. If you’re flying from Terminal 4 with Jetstar, Link Airways, Rex or Virgin Australia, the T4 Terminal Car Park is just a 100-metre walk away.
- Premium Car Parks: Located on Level 1 of both the T123 and T4 Car Parks, these prime self-park bays sit closest to the terminal entry points. From here, it’s just a short walk to the check-in areas. Every bay is fully undercover, which can be helpful if you’re travelling with kids, carrying extra bags or flying out early and want a quicker walk to the terminal.
- Melbourne Airport Valet: Prefer to hand over the keys and head straight to the terminal? Melbourne Airport Valet makes that process simple. Drive to Level 1 of the T123 Car Park, leave your car with our team and walk to check-in while we handle the parking for you. It’s a practical option if you're travelling early, arriving with family or carrying extra luggage. You can also ask about the optional car cleaning service if you’d like to return to a freshly cleaned car.
- Qantas Valet: Flying with Qantas from Terminal 1? This valet service places you closest to the Qantas domestic terminal. The handover bays are on Level 1 of the T123 Car Park. Simply drive in, leave your keys with the team and walk to check-in. The service is open to all travellers, but if you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer, you’ll earn points each time you use this service. An optional car wash is available if you’d like your vehicle cleaned while you’re away.
How Do You Manage Your Airport Parking Booking Online?
Travel plans can change, and you can manage your online booking through My Bookings using your booking reference number. If you haven’t parked yet, you can update or cancel your booking up to two hours before your scheduled entry time. Already parked? You can extend your stay anytime by adjusting your exit time and updating the exit date through the same portal.
Every online booking also includes a built-in grace period, which gives you a little extra flexibility if your timing shifts. For bookings under four hours, you get one hour on either side of your entry and exit time. If you’re parking for longer than four hours, that window extends to two hours.
It’s still smart to allow extra time for road delays and disruptions around Tullamarine, especially during busy periods when traffic near the Pick Up and Drop Off zones can build up. Adding around 60 minutes to your travel time to the airport can help keep things on schedule.
