Extra taxi ranks for extra convenience

We are making it easier for you to find a taxi or Uber when you arrive at Melbourne Airport. Extra taxi and Uber ranks zones have been created due to feedback from passengers, drivers and staff, and are designed to improve your access to transport.

Taxi ranks

Taxi ranks are located close all terminals. The Melbourne CBD is approximately a 30 minute fare from Melbourne Airport.

Estimate your fare here.

For your safety you should not accept any offer of taxi services outside of the designated taxi ranks at Terminals 1, 2, and 4.

Pre-booked taxis

You can pre-book a taxi to pick you up from the airport. Pick-up will be at the north end of the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 Car Park (closest to Terminal 1).

A Melbourne Airport access fee of $4.78 (inc GST) applies to all pick-ups from an airport taxi rank. The fee is included in the taxi fare, and there is no airport charge for drop-off.

Please see map below for Taxi rank locations.

Ready to hit the road?

Follow these simple steps to ensure you're hopping into a registered taxi vehicle.

For your safety,  please decline offers of taxis both inside and outside the terminals. Authorised taxis wait at designated taxi ranks at Terminals 1, 2, and 4, clearly marked with signage. This ensures licensed and safe drivers, keeping you away from potential scams.

Before approaching the taxi, make sure the taxi and the driver are displaying their accredited taxi service number. Once you've confirmed the taxi and driver details, you're good to go! Load your luggage and settle in.

Remember these essential tips:

  • Never accept a ride from anyone offering taxi services inside or outside the airport terminals.
  • Make sure you look for the official accredited taxi service number.
  • If you have any concerns, please contact the taxi operator directly.
