Overview

Heading to one of Melbourne Airport’s Value Car Parks and not sure which turn-off is yours? Easy. Just take Exit 18 off the Tullamarine Freeway, then follow the airport signage to the Value North Car Park or Value South Car Park. From there, hop on the free bus to the terminals. The bus service operates 24/7 and leaves either Value Car Park every 15 minutes.

The Value North Car Park bus stops at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4, so all terminals are within reach. Terminal 2, the international terminal, is a short walk from the Terminal 1 stop, and Terminal 3 is a short walk from the Terminal 4 stop. The Value South Car Park bus heads straight to the T4 Transport Hub, right by Terminal 4 and a short walk from Terminal 3.

How Do You Get To Melbourne Airport's Value Car Parks?

You can reach both Value Car Parks from Exit 18 off the Tullamarine Freeway. Come onto Mercer Drive and follow the airport parking signage towards the Value Car Parks. Which entrance you take from there depends on which Value Car Park you’re headed to.

If you booked online, we’ll email you a QR code. When you reach the boom gate, you just scan the QR code from your phone, and the gate lifts.

Which Value Car Park Bus Stop Is Closest To Your Terminal?

Which stop you step off at depends on the terminal you’re flying from. There are 7 Bus Shelters throughout the Value North Car Park, so wherever you park, you’ll find one close by. The free bus stops at Terminal 1 and Terminal 4, and between those two points, all terminals are a short walk away.

  • Flying Qantas from Terminal 1? Step off at the Terminal 1 stop.
  • Flying internationally from Terminal 2? Step off at the Terminal 1 stop, then it’s a short walk to Terminal 2.
  • Flying Virgin Australia from Terminal 3? Step off at the Terminal 4 stop.
  • Flying Jetstar, Rex or Link Airways from Terminal 4? Step off at the Terminal 4 stop.

For the Value South Car Park, board the shuttle bus at Bus Shelter J. It runs straight to the T4 Transport Hub. That makes the Value South Car Park a good fit if you’re flying Virgin Australia from Terminal 3 or out of Terminal 4.

Need Accessible Parking? There are Accessible Parking bays close to Bus Shelter A in the Value North Car Park and Bus Shelter J in the Value South Car Park. The free courtesy buses are wheelchair-friendly, and you’ll need to display a valid Accessible Parking Permit.

Where Do You Catch the Bus Back to Your Value Car Park?

If you parked at the Value North Car Park and came in through Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, the pick-up point is right outside Terminal 1. Landed at Terminal 3 or Terminal 4? Pick-up is outside Terminal 4. Look for the orange Value North Car Park signs.

If you parked at the Value South Car Park, the return is the same regardless of where you land. Just head to the T4 Transport Hub and follow the signs to Bus Lane 1, Bay 3.

Boarded the wrong bus by mistake? Don’t panic. If you’re parked at the Value South Car Park but you’ve caught the Value North Car Park bus, stay aboard until it loops back to the terminals. Then, step off at Terminal 4 and walk to the T4 Transport Hub, where the Value South bus picks up at Bus Lane 1, Bay 3.

The other way around, stay on the Value South Car Park bus back to the T4 Transport Hub, then walk towards the terminals. The Value North bus pick-up is right outside Terminal 4.

Are There Roadworks Near Melbourne Airport That May Affect the Drive In?

At times, yes. As we continue building your airport, roadworks may come and go in and around the Melbourne Airport precinct. That means there may be road delays and disruptions on your drive in.

Give yourself a buffer by allowing additional travel time, especially during long weekends and school holidays, when the roads are at their busiest. A quick look at Google Maps before you leave home shows you the live traffic around Tullamarine, so there’s no guesswork once you’re on the road.

What Happens to Your Value Parking Booking if You Arrive Late?

If you’re running a bit behind on the drive in, your Value Car Park booking still holds. All online bookings have a grace period already built in. For bookings under 4 hours, you’ve got a one-hour buffer on each side of your booked window. For longer stays, that buffer becomes 2 hours on each side.

Know ahead of time you’ll arrive late? You can update your entry time online. Just head to the My Bookings page and change your booking for free, up to 2 hours before your booked entry time. If you’re already parked and need to stay longer, you can extend your parking booking online via the same page any time before your booked exit time.

Book Airport Parking Early and Drive In With a Plan

Booking early is what makes the drive in easy. You can book airport parking online up to 12 months ahead, so you’ll know exactly where to go well before you leave the driveway. Book early, and you might just lock in a better deal than drive-up rates.
