Overview

Flying out from Melbourne Airport and after an affordable onsite parking option? The Value South Car Park is an open-air car park within the airport precinct, and it's hard to beat on price for a trip of a few days or more. Located off Airport Drive, it has a free bus service that runs 24/7 and connects the car park to the T4 Transport Hub.

The Value South Car Park is one of two Value Car Parks at Melbourne Airport, alongside the Value North Car Park. It suits travellers flying domestically from Terminal 3 (Virgin Australia) and Terminal 4 (Jetstar, Rex and Link Airways).

What Is Melbourne Airport's Value South Car Park?

The Value South Car Park is an onsite car park that offers the lowest parking rates for Melbourne Airport travellers. It's an open-air car park with a 3.3-metre height clearance, so SUVs, 4WDs and campervans can pull straight in.

When you book the Value South Car Park online, you lock in even more savings than if you pay drive-up rates on the day. Our Value Car Parks also offer a flat daily rate, which means the daily cost stays the same whether you’re away for two weeks or two nights.

To get to the car park, take Exit 18 off the Tullamarine Freeway onto Mercer Drive and follow the airport signage through to Airport Drive. You can check our car park maps to plan your drive in and use Google Maps to double-check live traffic on the day.

Who Is the Value South Car Park Best For?

The Value South Car Park is best suited to domestic travellers flying from Terminal 3 (Virgin Australia) or Terminal 4 (Jetstar, Rex and Link Airways). The free bus service takes you directly to the T4 Transport Hub, which puts Terminal 4 check-in just 200 metres from the drop-off point and Terminal 3 check-in just a short walk away.

This is the right Value Car Park for you if:

  • You want to keep parking costs down and still have your car onsite.
  • You’re heading away for more than a few days and don’t want to blow your travel budget.
  • You don’t want to organise off-airport transfers on either end of your trip.
  • You want the same daily rate whether you're parked for two nights or two weeks.

How Does the Value South Car Park Free Bus Service Work?

The Value South Car Park's courtesy bus service runs every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, directly between the car park and the T4 Transport Hub. So whether your flight leaves at 5 AM or you're landing after midnight, the bus will be running when you need it.

Here's what the route looks like in both directions:

  • Heading to your terminal? After parking, walk to Bus Shelter J. Drop-off is at the T4 Transport Hub, Bus Lane 1, Bay 3. The Terminal 4 check-in is right there, and Terminal 3 is a short walk for Virgin Australia passengers.
  • Heading back to your car? When you land, exit the terminal and turn right towards the T4 Transport Hub. The pick-up point is at Bus Lane 1, Bay 3. Jump on, and the bus takes you back to Bus Shelter J in the car park.

Accidentally boarded the Value North Car Park bus? Stay on until you reach the Terminal 4 bus stop, get off and turn left, and then follow the signs to the T4 Transport Hub. Then, head to the Value South Car Park bus pick-up at Bus Lane 1, Bay 3.

If you need help at any point, you'll find HELP buttons at every bus shelter in the car park and at the entry and exit boom gates. Press one to connect to our customer service team. We're on hand around the clock to help with anything that comes up.

Is There Accessible Parking at the Value South Car Park?

Yes, Accessible Parking is available across all Melbourne Airport car parks, including the Value South Car Park. There are 10 bays positioned closest to Bus Shelter J, available on a ‘first-come, first-in’ basis, and you'll need to display a valid Accessible Parking Permit to use them. The buses are wheelchair friendly, so getting to and from your terminal with a wheelchair or mobility aid is no problem.

If you'd like a hand, book free special assistance from our Melbourne Airport Assist team at least 24 hours before you fly. Our team will assist you from the bus to check-in on the way out and collect you from baggage claim when you land.

Why Should You Book Parking at Melbourne Airport?

Booking Melbourne Airport parking online before you fly means you pay less than drive-up rates, and your car stays within the precinct the whole time you're away. Whether you park and walk to your terminal or park and take the bus, you're never far from the airport terminals.

  • Online bookings get you a better rate than if you pay for parking at the gate. The earlier you lock it in, the more choice you get. You can book up to 12 months before your trip or up to 2 hours before your entry time.
  • Once you've paid online, we’ll send you a QR code via email. Save it to your phone for easy access, and scan it at the boom gate to enter the car park and then again to exit.
  • You can pay by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay with no booking or credit card fees.
  • Every pre-booked stay includes a grace period. For stays over 4 hours, that's a 2-hour buffer on either side of your booked window, so a slightly late arrival or a delayed return flight won't cost you extra.
  • If your return could be delayed by circumstances outside your control, you can add the Overstay Guarantee at booking. For a small upfront fee, it covers overstay charges if your return is delayed by a flight cancellation, border closure or illness.
  • Whatever type of trip you're planning, Melbourne Airport has an onsite parking option for it, from budget parking and self-parking closer to the terminals through to a full valet service.

Worried about your plans changing after you book? If yours do, you can amend or cancel your booking online up to 2 hours before your arrival time via the My Bookings page. Need to stay longer than you planned for? You can extend your stay through the same page any time before your booked exit time.

What Other Onsite Parking Options Are Available at Melbourne Airport?

The Value South Car Park sits at the affordable end of our parking lineup, but it's far from the only option. Melbourne Airport has several other onsite parking options, covering everything from budget, open-air parking through to undercover self-parking and valet services. The best fit depends on which terminal you're flying from and how close to check-in you want to be.

  • On a budget? The Value North Car Park is the other half of what was previously known as Value parking or Long Term parking. It has a budget-friendly flat daily rate and its own free bus service with stops near Terminal 1 and Terminal 4, so all four terminals are covered.
  • Want something closer to the terminals? If you'd rather park and walk, our Terminal Car Parks offer two options: the T123 Terminal Car Park has a covered link bridge to Terminal 1 (Qantas), Terminal 2 (international terminal) and Terminal 3 (Virgin Australia), and the T4 Terminal Car Park is just 100 metres from Terminal 4. Our Premium Car Parks, both on Level 1 of the T123 and T4 Car Parks, put you in the closest undercover bays to each terminal entrance.
  • Prefer valet parking instead? If you'd rather not park yourself at all, the Melbourne Airport Valet Car Park and Qantas Valet on Level 1 of the T123 Car Park both offer valet services with optional car cleaning while you’re away.
