ALL car parks are very busy this Labour Day long weekend, with limited drive-up spots available. Please consider alternative transport options.  If you do have a car park booking, please have your QR code ready for a smooth entry and exit and allow extra time to find a spot. Our roads and car parks may have changed since your last visit. Due to ongoing construction in the T123 car park Pick up and Drop off areas, passengers should plan for potential delays of up to an hour during peak times. Learn more about the Naarm Way Stage 2 project: https://www.melbourneairport.com.au/plan-ahead To avoid congestion, we recommend using the equivalent pick-up and drop-off facilities at nearby Terminal 4 car park, just a short 10-minute walk from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Simply drive to the Terminal 4 Car Park and proceed to Level 2 for Drop off or Level 1 for Pick up. Thank you for your patience while we are building your airport.

Overview

With new routes, more airlines and plenty of good reasons to travel, 2026 is already shaping up to be a big year at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. If you’ve got a trip coming up, now is a great time to plan the bits that make travel day go more smoothly. Airport parking is one of them.

If you’re thinking of driving in, there are a few onsite parking options you can choose from. Some are closer to the terminals, while others work better if you’re heading off for a longer trip. Whichever option you end up choosing, a little bit of planning now can help you get better value before your trip even starts.

How Can You Lock In the Best Melbourne Airport Parking Rates?

The best way to get a better price is to plan your airport car parking ahead of time, not on the day you travel. There are a few simple things you can do now to make your parking choice more cost-effective, especially if you're heading off on a long trip or looking for great value on a shorter one.

  • Pre-book airport parking well in advance. Booking early gives you access to the full range of onsite parking options at Melbourne Airport, instead of just what’s left. It’s the simplest way to plan airport parking around your trip and lock in something that feels right for your budget. You can book up to 12 months ahead of time. Plus, you can save more on your parking the earlier you book.
  • Always book online. Booking online not only gives you a better parking rate than paying at the gate, but also offers flexibility. The built-in grace period means you get an extra hour on either side of your booking for short stays, or two hours if you’re parked for longer than four hours. For extra peace of mind, there’s also the option to add an Overstay Guarantee, which covers extra charges if you’re delayed getting back due to a flight cancellation, border closure or illness.
  • Look out for special parking offers and discounts. Special parking offers come up throughout the year, often for a limited time or set travel dates. To hear about them early, subscribe to the Melbourne Airport Parking Deals newsletter and get the latest updates, promos and special offers sent straight to your inbox.
  • Use loyalty perks or corporate programs. Flying regularly for work? Our Corporate Parking Program offers tailored rates for businesses and frequent travellers. It’s a simple way to get more value out of trips you’re already taking and keep parking costs down over time.
  • Match the parking option to your trip. The best rate often comes down to picking the right kind of parking. We offer both short-term parking and long-term parking options, so whether you’re away for a day, a weekend, or a few weeks, you can choose what works best for you and pay only for what you need.

When Is the Best Time to Book Airport Parking?

The best time to pre-book airport parking is as soon as you’ve locked in your flight, especially if you’re flying during school holidays or other peak travel periods. Booking early means you’ll have more choice, lower rates and a better chance of finding something that suits your trip.

If your plans change, it’s easy to manage your parking online. Through My Bookings, you can update or cancel your booking up to two hours before your scheduled entry time. If you’re already parked and running later than expected, you can extend your booking online anytime before your scheduled exit.

Which Melbourne Airport Car Park Offers the Best Value?

That depends on the kind of trip you’re taking and how you like to travel. Whether it’s about proximity to the terminal or longer stays at a lower rate, the best value comes from matching the parking to your trip.

Here are a few of the most popular options:

  • Value Car Park: If you’re heading off for more than a few days, the Value Car Park is built for that kind of trip. It’s an open-air parking option with entrances on Mercer Drive and Airport Drive, and includes a free bus service to Terminals 1 and 4 every 15 minutes, day and night. From there, it’s a short walk to check-in. The Terminal 1 stop is best for Qantas domestic travellers from Terminal 1 and those flying internationally from Terminal 2. The Terminal 4 stop suits all other domestic flights from Terminals 3 and 4 (Jetstar, Rex, Link Airways and Virgin Australia).

During peak times like school holidays, Value Express is also available here. It’s a seasonal valet service within the Value Car Park, where you can pull up near Bus Stop B and hop on the next bus while our team takes care of the parking. It’s available to book online or, if spots remain, upgrade on arrival.
  • Terminal Car Parks: Located right across from the airport terminals, they’re a convenient location if you want to be within walking distance of check-in. There are two car parks. Both offer a mix of undercover and outdoor parking spaces, with dedicated areas for motorbike parking too. The T123 Car Park connects to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via a covered walkway, which works well if you're flying with Qantas, Virgin Australia or heading off internationally. The T4 Car Park is just 100 metres from Terminal 4 and suits travellers flying with Jetstar, Rex, Link Airways or Virgin Australia.

What Other Parking Options Are Available On Site?

If you’re looking for more choices, there are a few other onsite parking options that sit even closer to the terminals. These are well-suited to quick departures, tighter schedules or travellers who prefer prime undercover parking spaces.

  • Premium Car Parks: These undercover parking bays are on Level 1 of both the T123 and T4 Car Parks, just moments from the terminal entrances. It’s a self-park option, so you keep your keys and park the car yourself. If you're flying out early, travelling with kids or prefer not to carry bags through public transport, it’s a simple way to start your trip.
  • Melbourne Airport Valet: If you’d prefer to skip parking altogether, Melbourne Airport Valet makes it easy. Just drive to Level 1 of the T123 Car Park, hand over your keys and walk straight into the terminal. No need to search for a bay or carry your bags far. Our friendly staff will park your car for you while you check in. There’s also an optional car wash service available, so you can return to a freshly cleaned car after your trip.
  • Qantas Valet: Flying Qantas? This valet service is located on Level 1 of the T123 Car Park, just a short walk from the Qantas domestic terminal. There’s no need to book ahead. Just drive in, hand over your keys and head straight to check-in. It’s open to all travellers, but Qantas Frequent Flyers earn points every time they use this service. An optional car cleaning service is also available if you’d like to return to a clean car after your trip.

Book Early to Lock in Better Airport Parking Rates

Booking online in advance is still the best way to get more value out of airport parking, especially in a year as busy as this one. It gives you more choice, better rates and fewer things to sort on the day.

Just doing a quick pick-up or drop-off? There are dedicated pick-up zones forall terminals. For drop-off, head to the drop-off zone on Departure Drive for Terminals 1, 2 and 3 or to Level 2 of the T4 Car Park for Terminal 4. You can also park at the Wait Zone just off the Tullamarine Freeway, which gives you 60 minutes of free parking while you wait.
