Overview

Melbourne Airport's Value Car Park offering has expanded to two locations: the Value North Car Park and the Value South Car Park. Both are open-air, long-term car parks, with a flat daily rate and a 24/7 free bus service to stops near the terminals, running every 15 minutes. The way you book, right down to the QR code you scan at the boom gate, hasn't changed. The only things that're new are the names and the location for the new Value South Car Park.

Those names do tell you something useful. The two car parks each connect to different terminal stops, so which one suits your trip comes down to your airline. Both Value Car Parks remain our most affordable onsite parking options, and you can book either one online up to 12 months before you fly and pay a better rate than if you drive up.

What Has Changed with Melbourne Airport’s Value Parking?

Commonly known as Value parking or the Long Term Car Park, Melbourne Airport's Value Car Parks now cover two separate parking options. The Value North Car Park has bus stops outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 4, connecting to all four terminals, while the Value South Car Park's bus runs directly to the T4 Transport Hub and best serves Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 passengers.

Here's what both Value Car Parks offer:

  • Both Value Car Parks are a great fit for longer trips, but the flat daily rate makes them just as good for a short stay. You don't need a week away to make them worth it.
  • Both run a free shuttle bus service every 15 minutes, day and night. That means getting from the car park to your terminal and back to your car when you land is easy from either location.
  • Both car parks are open-air with a 3.3-metre height clearance, so SUVs, 4WDs and campervans fit.
  • Accessible Parking is still available in both Value Car Parks, just as it is across all Melbourne Airport car parks. A valid Accessible Parking Permit is required to use the dedicated bays, and both buses are wheelchair friendly.
  • Whether you choose Value North or Value South, how you book parking online works is simple. You can book either Value Car Park 12 months ahead or up to 2 hours before your entry time.
  • You can amend or cancel through the My Bookings page up to 2 hours before arrival, or extend your stay before you exit. Payments can be made by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

If anything comes up on the day, both Value Car Parks have HELP buttons at every bus shelter and at the entry and exit boom gates. Press one to connect with our customer service team. They're available around the clock, every day of the year.

What’s the Difference Between the Value North Car Park and the Value South Car Park?

The key difference between the Value North and the Value South is where their free bus takes you. Value North buses have a longer route through the Value North Car Park, with stops outside Terminal 1 for Qantas and Terminal 4 for Jetstar, Rex and Link Airways, with short walks to Terminal 2 for international flights and Terminal 3 for Virgin Australia. Value South buses run directly from Bus Shelter J to the T4 Transport Hub, putting Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 check-in within quick and easy reach.

Beyond the bus routes, here’s how they differ:

  • Getting to the Value Car Parks. You can reach both car parks via Exit 18 off the Tullamarine Freeway. Value North has two entrances, one off Airport Drive and another off Mercer Drive, while Value South Car Park has an entrance on Airport Drive and a second entrance on Francis Briggs Road. Before you head off, check Google Maps for live traffic to see possible road delays or disruptions around the precinct.
  • Accessible Parking at both car parks. The Value North Car Park has 89 Accessible Parking bays, all positioned closest to Bus Shelter A. The Value South Car Park has 10, positioned closest to Bus Shelter J. Both are available on a ‘first-come, first-in’ basis. A valid Accessible Parking Permit must be displayed, and both buses are wheelchair friendly.
  • Getting back to the Value North Car Park after landing. Parked at the Value North Car Park? Your pick-up point depends on which airport terminal you arrived at. Landed at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2? Head outside Terminal 1 and look for the orange Value North Car Park signs. Arrived at Terminal 3 or Terminal 4? Pick-up is outside Terminal 4, next to the SkyBus stop.
  • Getting back to the Value South Car Park after landing. It’s the same route every time, no matter which terminal you flew into. Just head to the exit, turn right and walk to the T4 Transport Hub. Board the Value South Car Park bus at Bus Lane 1, Bay 3.

Not sure which way to go when you land? You’ll find our Experience Ambassadors across all terminals, and they’re easy to spot in their pink jackets. These community volunteers know the precinct well and are always happy to help. At Terminal 4, any staff member wearing a Melbourne Airport lanyard can point you in the right direction too.

Why Should You Pre-Book Melbourne Airport's Value Car Parks?

The main reason to pre-book your Value Car Park is the price. Online rates are lower than drive-up rates, and there are no booking or credit card fees on top. But an online booking comes with more than just the savings. It also includes a QR code for the boom gate, a built-in grace period and the flexibility to change or cancel your booking online if something comes up.

  • Online prices are lower than drive-up prices. Book as soon as your flights are confirmed and your parking is sorted before you've even thought about packing your bags. What you see is what you pay. No booking fees or credit card fees.
  • You can compare and choose before you leave home. Booking online lets you compare all available parking options side by side before you arrive. Value North's free bus takes you to stops near Terminal 1 and Terminal 4. It suits those flying Qantas from Terminal 1, all international flights from Terminal 2, Virgin Australia flights from Terminal 3, and Jetstar, Rex and Link Airways from Terminal 4. Value South's bus runs directly to the T4 Transport Hub and is best for Terminal 3 (Virgin Australia) and Terminal 4 passengers.
  • Getting in and out of the car park is easy. After booking, we’ll send you a Parking QR code via email. Save it to your phone and scan it at the boom gate on the way in and again on the way out. No card tap, no ticket to hold on to.
  • Your booking comes with a built-in buffer. Book for under 4 hours, and you get a 1-hour grace period on either side of your booked window. Book for more than 4 hours, and that extends to 2 hours on each end. Small timing changes on either end of your trip won't cost you extra.
  • You can add the Overstay Guarantee for peace of mind. For a small upfront fee, the optional Overstay Guarantee add-on covers overstay charges if your return is delayed by a cancelled flight with no replacement offered, a government-mandated border closure or an illness that prevents you from flying home. Approved refunds are processed within 14 working days.
  • Online bookings stay flexible. Amend or cancel at no charge up to 2 hours before arrival through the My Bookings page. Already parked and need more time? Extend your stay through the same page at any time before your booked exit.

Travelling with accessibility needs? You can pre-book free special assistance from our Melbourne Airport Assist team at least 24 hours before you fly. They can help you from the bus drop-off to check-in on the way out and from the Arrivals Hall back to the bus when you land.
