Overview

For domestic flights from Terminal 4, where you park your car isn’t always clear. Often, travellers flying with Jetstar, Rex or Link Airways from Terminal 4, as well as some Virgin Australia passengers, leave their cars at the T4 Terminal Car Park, the T4 Premium Car Park or one of the Value Car Parks.

Across Melbourne Airport's car parks, there are several onsite parking options you can choose from based on how long you'll be away, how close you want to be to your airport terminal and your travel style. The best part? You can book parking at Melbourne Airport up to 12 months in advance, so you're not limited to what's left on the day. By booking online, you'll also get the best rates and can save on drive-up rates.

Why Park Onsite When Flying from Terminal 4?

For a flight from T4, parking onsite at Melbourne Airport makes sense because everything is within the airport precinct. You drive in directly off the Tullamarine Freeway, park your car and head straight to your terminal.

Here's why that works in your favour:

  • No external transfer to sort on the way in or the way back
  • The drive in and out is direct off the Tullamarine Freeway via Naarm Way
  • Terminal parking and Premium parking at the T4 Car Park give you easy access to Terminal 4, just 100 metres away
  • All our car parks operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Whether you need parking for a night or a few weeks, there's an onsite parking option to match your plans and your budget

Got mobility needs? All our car parks have Accessible Parking bays, with spots positioned close to terminal entrances, lifts and bus stops. At the T4 Car Park, you’ll find Accessible Parking bays on Level 1 (Rows B and C) and Level 2 (Rows B, C and D).

Which Melbourne Airport Car Park Is Closest to Terminal 4?

The Melbourne Airport T4 Car Park is the closest self-parking option to T4, just 100 metres from the terminal entrance, and suits both short-term and long-term stays. It’s the natural choice for Jetstar, Rex and Link Airways flying from Terminal 4 and some Virgin Australia passengers. Take Exit 19A Naarm Way off the Tullamarine Freeway or use Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions.

There are two parking options within the T4 Car Park:

  • The T4 Terminal Car Park is a multi-level car park that offers a mix of open-air and undercover parking spaces. No booking? If you’re driving up for a quick drop-off or pickup, the first 15 minutes of parking here are free.
  • The T4 Premium Car Park is on Level 1 of the T4 Car Park, with fully undercover parking spaces in the bays closest to the terminal entry point. It's a short walk from there to check-in.

What’s the Best Parking Option for a Longer Trip From Terminal 4?

If you're away for several days or more and want to save on airport parking, Melbourne Airport's Value Car Parks offer affordable onsite parking. The Value South Car Park is the more direct option for passengers flying domestically from Terminal 4 (Jetstar, Rex and Link Airways) and Terminal 3 (Virgin Australia), with a free bus running every 15 minutes, 24/7, straight to the T4 Transport Hub.

The Value North Car Park is another option, with the free bus stopping at Terminal 4 and also at Terminal 1 for Qantas and international passengers. Both open-air car parks are accessible from Mercer Drive or Airport Drive via Exit 18 from the Tullamarine Freeway.

Is There Valet Parking Available for Terminal 4 Passengers?

Yes. Both Melbourne Airport Valet and Qantas Valet are located on Level 1 of the T123 Car Park, a few minutes’ walk from Terminal 4. Drive in, hand your keys to the valet service team and walk straight to your terminal.

Here are the two options:

  • Melbourne Airport Valet is a 24/7 valet service close to Terminals 3 and 4, but it’s open to all travellers. Pull up at Level 1 of the T123 Car Park, hand over your keys and head straight to check-in. Optional car cleaning is available here if you'd like your car freshly cleaned and waiting when you land.
  • Qantas Valet is also on Level 1 of the T123 Car Park. It’s positioned closest to the Terminal 1 entrance for Qantas, so it is a longer walk to Terminal 4, but it’s open to all travellers. Just drive in, hand over your keys and head to check-in. You can also arrange a car cleaning service while you’re away.

Do You Need to Pre-Book Parking at Melbourne Airport Online?

You don’t have to, but online bookings will usually get you a better deal than paying drive-up rates at the gate. The pricing gets even better the earlier you lock it in. You also get a grace period built into every booking, a QR code sent to your email for entry and exit, and the flexibility to manage or extend your stay if plans change.

Here's what you get when you book online:

  • You'll get the best rates for your chosen car park. Booking early also gives you more choice, so you can pick the option that suits your trip rather than working with what's left.
  • A grace period is built into every online booking. For stays under 4 hours, you get a 1-hour grace period on either side of your booked window. For stays over 4 hours, that buffer extends to 2 hours on both ends. So if your drive-in or exit runs a little long, you won't be charged anything extra within that buffer.
  • You can add the Overstay Guarantee at the time of booking. The Overstay Guarantee covers overstay charges if your return flight is cancelled due to an airline cancellation or government border closure, or if illness prevents you from flying home. Approved refunds are processed within 14 working days.
  • When you book online, a QR code is sent to your confirmation email. Scan your Parking QR code at the boom gate to enter the car park on the way in and again on the way out.
  • You can book online up to 12 months before your flight. Need to change something? Head to the My Bookings page to amend or cancel your booking up to 2 hours before your booked arrival time. Already parked and need more time? You can extend your stay through the same page before your booked exit time.

Match Your Parking to Your Terminal 4 Travel Plans

Got the flight locked? Head to the Melbourne Airport Parking & Transport page to compare all the onsite options and book your parking online. Driving in on two wheels? Bicycles and motorcycles can use any available bay in all car parks at standard car parking rates. But if you'd prefer the best parking experience, there are allocated bicycle and motorcycle parking bays on the Ground Floor of the T123 Car Park.

If you're just doing a quick airport run, the T4 Pick Up and Drop Off zones are on Level 1 (Pick Up) and Level 2 (Drop Off) of the T4 Transport Hub. You can also park at the Wait Zone on Mercer Drive for free for 60 minutes.
