Overview
Booking access to the T123 Accessible Car Park takes a couple of minutes online. You can do it up to 12 months before you fly and pay T123 Terminal Car Park rates, with nothing extra on top. On the day, just take Exit 20 off the Tullamarine Freeway, head to the T123 Car Park, scan your QR code at the boom gate, drive up the ramp to Level 2 and scan once more at the T123 Accessible Car Park entry.
What makes it worth booking ahead is that it’s the only Accessible Parking at Melbourne Airport you can book online. It has 71undercover bays, close to the Virgin Australia bridge to Terminal 3, the new bridge to Terminal 2 and the Qantas bridge to Terminal 1, so it suits travellers flying from any of the three.
Can anyone book the T123 Accessible Car Park at Melbourne Airport?
No. You need a valid Australian Disability Parking (ADP) Permit to book entry to Melbourne Airport’s T123 Accessible Car Park. It doesn’t matter which state or territory issued your permit, as it’s recognised at Melbourne Airport wherever you’ve travelled in from.
Taking the original with you? Leave a clear photocopy on the dashboard. Either way, your permit has to be visible through the windscreen the whole time you're parked, with the permit number, expiry date and QR code readable from outside the car.
The T123 Accessible Car Park works for you if you’re flying Qantas domestic from Terminal 1, internationally from Terminal 2 or Virgin Australia from Terminal 3. Flying Jetstar, Rex, Link Airways or one of the Virgin Australia flights out of Terminal 4 instead? You’re better off across the precinct, where the closest disabled parking sits in the T4 Terminal Car Park and the T4 Premium Car Park. Both hold ‘first-come, first-in’ bays.
How do you book the T123 Accessible Car Park?
To book the T123 Accessible Car Park online, choose your entry date and exit date and times, select it from the parking options and add your permit details. Your confirmation email arrives with the QR code you’ll scan at the gate. You can book parking up to 12 months ahead.
A few good reasons to get in early:
- Lock in the parking rate at the time you book, rather than paying the drive-up rate at the boom gate in our other car parks.
- No booking fees and no card fees on top. What you see at checkout is what you pay.
- Amend or cancel free of charge up to 2 hours before your entry time on the My Bookings page, or extend your stay and change your exit time if the trip runs long.
- Running late back into Melbourne? Your booking already has a grace period built in. That’s 1 hour either side for stays under 4 hours and 2 hours either side for longer ones.
When booking, you can add the optional Overstay Guarantee for a small upfront fee. It can cover overstay charges if a cancelled flight, a closed border or illness keeps you from flying back home on time.
How do you get to Melbourne Airport’s T123 Accessible Car Park?
To get to the T123 Accessible Car Park, take Exit 20 off the Tullamarine Freeway and follow the airport signage to the T123 Car Park. From there, you scan in, drive up to Level 2, then scan again.
- Scan your QR code at the T123 Car Park entry gate. Scan it rather than tapping a card, or the system reads you as a drive-up customer.
- Follow the ramp up to Level 2.
- Scan the code once more at the T123 Accessible Car Park entrance.
- Take any free bay and display your permit on the dashboard.
- From Level 2, the covered pedestrian bridge takes you across to Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
Coming home, you cross back over to Level 2, collect the car and scan on your way out. Want to see the run before you drive it? Our airport maps put every exit, car park and terminal on the one page.
What are the parking bays like in the T123 Accessible Car Park?
At Melbourne Airport’s T123 Accessible Car Park, each bay is 2.4 metres wide and 5.4 metres long, on level, firm ground, with 2.3 metres of clearance above it. All 71 Accessible Parking bays meet AS/NZS 2890.6:2009 for wheelchair access.
- Between each pair of Accessible Parking bays is a shared zone, 2.4 metres by 5.0 metres, striped with diagonal yellow lines. This gives you room to transfer in or out from the side of your vehicle rather than the rear.
- Each bay carries the white international symbol of access on a blue background.
- The lifts have wide doors, controls set at wheelchair height and Braille panels.
The T123 Car Park entrance clears 2.2 metres. If your car stands taller than that, our open-air Value Car Parks clear 3.3 metres and run a free wheelchair-friendly bus to the terminals every 15 minutes, around the clock.
Is there help available for those who need special assistance?
Yes. Our Melbourne Airport Assist team can help you from your bay through to check-in, then meets you at baggage collection on the way home. It’s free, and you can arrange it before you travel or ask for it once you’re here.
There are a few ways to sort it:
- Book special assistance with at least 24 hours’ notice.
- Call the team on the day if nothing was arranged ahead.
- Ask the staff at any Mobility Hub locations once you’re here.
- Arrange After-Hours help if you’re flying before 6 AM or after 10 PM.
Before you fly, look through our Online Mobility Hub for videos, facility guides, sensory maps and more to help plan your journey. Need a hand at the car park? Press the HELP button at either boom gate or anywhere in the car park, and you’ll reach our customer service team.
If you’re here to assist someone who holds a Companion Card, there’s a full parking fee refund on stays of two hours or less in our Terminal Car Parks. Keep the receipt and lodge it through our Parking Refunds page with a copy of the card attached.
Get your Accessible Parking sorted early
Got the flights locked in? Sort airport parking while you’re at it. Book the T123 Accessible Car Park online up to 12 months before you fly, and it’s one less thing on your mind between now and travel day.
The T123 Accessible Car Park must be pre-booked, and it won’t suit every trip, which is why it helps to know the rest of your options. There are ‘first-come, first-in’ Accessible Parking bays right across Melbourne Airport’s car parks. You’ll find them in the Terminal Car Parks and the Premium Car Parks, in the Value North Car Park nearest Bus Shelter A and in the Value South Car Park nearest Bus Shelter J.
Rather hand the keys over? Melbourne Airport Valet and Qantas Valet both take the parking off your hands. Pull up, give the valet parking team the keys and walk to check-in.
